Cambridge,

This page is the canonical home for my Cambridge Muslim College talk on Islamic Computing: Building What Benefits People.

The talk brought together three threads: my own journey across engineering, academia, and Islamic technology; lessons from building Greentech Apps Foundation over the long term; and the bigger question of what Muslims should build as AI changes how people search, learn, and ask.

The central argument was simple: the future of beneficial Muslim technology is not only about making more apps. It is about building trustworthy systems, stronger institutions, research capability, and mission-driven people who can serve with sincerity and ihsan.

Slides are available here:

Key themes from the session included:

  • serving people through your edge
  • building institutions, not only projects
  • research as a discipline of listening
  • Islamic Computing beyond first-generation apps
  • responsible Islamic AI: sources, limits, human review, and scholar guidance

If a recording becomes available later, I will add it here.
